On the brink of Civil War, the Torrian Alliance continues with its mission to obliterate Star-children across the universe in order to suppress an intergalactic evil. Following the recommendations of his Council, King Gregorio Derry has agreed to send his only son William, on a mission to restore honor to his family. What starts out routine, becomes a lot more complicated as an inopportune crash landing delays the assassination. During this time, William begins to form a 'connection' with Sydney that challenges his inner being. But this conflict is the least of his problems, as a conspiracy back on his home planet Fabricius threatens the lives of those he loves and his father's royal legacy. Along with that, he must unravel a hidden threat here on Earth that seeks to secure a vested interest that threatens both his and Sydney's safety. Will William be able to complete his mission or will he choose love, sacrificing everything he stands for?show more

"THE STAR-CROSSED SAGA: PROTOSTAR" BY BRAXTON COSBY (REVIEW) It's 3:40 am here and I just finished reading this book. I can honestly say that it's been a while since I've stayed up this late to finish a novel but I simply couldn't put this one down. I'm not usually one that cares much for Sci-fi fiction but this book really kept my attention. I believe that Braxton Cosby will go far with this series and I look forward to the next book. The element of Science Fiction intermingled well with the romance and I found myself rooting for the couple all the way. The ending... well it's a cliff-hanger and I love that because I feel that's the way a good series should be. By leaving the ending open it keeps the readers wanting more. The book is well-written and displays a talent showing just how well Braxton knows his characters and feels their emotions as he displays them so artistically on each page. Definitely a must read novel! -Kitty Bullard / Great Minds Think Aloud Book Clubshow more

I must say, I was very surprised with what I found within the pages of Protostar. I do not consider myself an avid Science-Fiction fan, but this book managed to keep my attention. As I read Protostar, I found myself captivated by the sheer volume of Cosby's fresh take on the genre, while creating his own. His attention to detail paints the picture on a visual canvas that reads like a movie. Cosby manages to capture the attention of the reader and builds a complete story that tugs at your emotions and treats the senses. William and Sydney, along with the otehr cast of characters evolve over time, which made me feel "connected" to them until the bitter end. Now, I'm stuck having to wait for the next one. Sad more

My first thoughts on reading this fantastic and unique blend of Sci - Fi intertwined with a romantic backdrop of love between two beings from totally different galaxies was " How freshly invigorating to see a young writer approach the human connection with such grace and delicacy. " Internal struggles of being, loving, needing to feel loved and making the right decisions come to the forefront and combines into a platform that is illuminating for both sexes. A very exciting rendition of space travel and technology that puts this writer in a league of its own. It is all worth the read and the wait for the next book in the more

The Star-Crossed Saga: Protostar First let me say that I want to play Sydney when this book turns into a movie. I am a big fan of sci-fi and romance (sci-fance) and this book provides a perfect combination of both. It is very difficult to capture exactly what makes this book so outstanding and so captivating, without the spoilers, so I will refrain from doing so. The story itself is very good, and it's easy for the reader to be swept up in Mr. Cosby's descriptions of the world where the alien characters come from. I liked the way Mr. Cosby's uses the characters' diaries and journals to form the story. He manages to beautifully tell multiple stories and develops each of those stories so well that you can't help but be consumed by the book. The insights and the way he writes about it makes this book a worthy and compelling read. The author has also managed to explain the complex scientific information combines with witty humor, in a way that anyone can comprehend and be fascinated by. Mr. Cosby captured me from page one all the way to the final page of the book. I read it in one pass and I didn't want it to end. I love the Protostar, and I am counting the days till Mr. Braxton Cosby writes the next book. A fan is born!show more

Cosby creates a beautiful connection of Science-fiction and Romance!! The effortless blend of the two genres culminates into an epic tale that is sure to become another cult classic. William and Sydney have become stained in my mind. Each chapter builds you interest and makes you want more. I was intrigued from beginning to end. The only disappointing thing about Protostar is that it is over and now I must wait for the next one. Truly a must read!show more
