Among the writers' notes, is a copy of Garter King's directions for marshalling the Stafford coat with the Royal arms, and through their alliances the Staffords, Nevilles, Mortimers, and Percys were truer Plantagenets than the founder of the House of Tudor. Indeed, the history of the country at this epoch, is rather a history of these noble families and their factions.
