About Robert Westall

Robert Westall wrote eighteen books for children including The Machine Gunners and The Scarecrows, both of which won the Carnegie Medal and the Horn Book awards. He studied at art college and was a Head of Art for many years at a school in Cheshire. He died in 1993.
