Description

No one knows why Julian Adair left his fancy boarding school to complete his senior year at Longbourn High School, and he's not about to tell anyone - especially not the bossy Abby Bennet who runs the school service hours project with an iron fist. Abby is determined to humble the arrogant newcomer via his service project, and he's just as determined to dodge the requirement. Julian came home for an important reason, and the last thing he needs is a pesky do-gooder interfering in his life. Tempers flare and misunderstandings escalate between Julian and Abby, and when a wave of robberies rattles the town of Meryton- casting suspicion on Julian- Abby isn't sure what to believe about the enigmatic newcomer. Julian loves to fly solo in his beloved Cessna, but for the first time in his life he considers the benefits of a co-pilot...especially one as irritating- and appealing- as Abby.

4.5 stars: "If you like sweet romance and Star Wars, this book is for you. Super quick read with adorable characters and lots of geeky references." --Lissa Hawley, Goodreads Reviewer

4 stars: "The characters start to come to life with a friendship and romance that readers will enjoy. The story is a cheesy, sweet and fun read that readers will be able to read sitting by the pool, soaking up the sun." --Book Him Danno

5 stars: "Well done and looking forward to reading more by this author." --Sarah, Educator at Canisteo-Greenwood CSD

4 stars: "The Breakfast Club meets The Apprentice. [...] Spies, Lies and Allies is a charming, witty read. It's for the inner geek." --Danielle, Chapters Through Life

5 stars: "Loved it. Great pacing, engaging characters, original plot. [...] Fabulous." --Pascale, Goodreads Reviewer

4.3 stars: "I've been on a huge contemporary kick ever since April started (read about 6 so far) and this is definitely one of my favorites! [...] The plot is really entertaining. I loved the friendships that developed and all the Star Wars, The Breakfast Club, Scooby Doo references. I don't even like Star Wars (sue me), but I found the characters' fascination with it absolutely adorable." --Camilla, @RoyIsReading

4 stars: "While I love a good romance, it was nice to read a book in which it wasn't the sole focus. Really, I felt like the author focused more on family, friendship, loyalty, and the difficulties of growing up." --Melena Torretta, Goodreads Reviewer

5 stars: "[O]ne of my favourite novels I've had to review yet!" --Viv, Goodreads Reviewer

4 stars: "If you're after a cute contemporary read for the summer, and want one that has a wide variety of cast, and extremely enjoyable plot, then Spies, Lies, and Allies is a book for you." --Sophie, Sophie Reads YA

4 stars: "Lisa Brown Roberts has a done an excellent job of making Laurel's voice that of a young lady with little work experience. She had a very black and white construct of how the world should be and work. I think this is actually a wonderful novel for young adults because it lets them know that not everything is so one sided in the business world." --Kat, Skip to the Best of YA Literature

"A cute contemporary with a great family focus, a fun friendship vibe, and a sweet romance." - Samantha at We Live and Breathe Books

"The Breakfast Club meets The Apprentice." - D.M. Duncan's Blog

About Lisa Brown Roberts

Lisa Brown Roberts still hasn't recovered from the teenage trauma of nearly tweezing off both eyebrows and having to pencil them in for an entire school year. This and other angst-filled memories inspire her to write YA books about navigating life's painful and funny dramas, and falling in love along the way. She lives in Colorado in a house full of books, boys, four-legged prima donnas, and lots of laughter.
