About Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez is a cartoonist who's work includes EL MUERTO, THE COMA, MANIAC PRIEST and numerous other titles. He established his own imprint, LOS COMEX, in 1998, and has contributed to The Charlton Arrow, The New Adventures of the Human Fly and "Hey, Kids, Comics!" among others. His work has been the subject of such books as "Your Brain on Latino Comics" and "Latinos and Narrative Media: Participation and Portrayal." In 2011 he co-founded the Latino Comics Expo. One of his comics, El Muerto, was adapted as a live-action film starring Wilmer Valderrama, for which Javier served as Associate Producer. In addition to his comics work, Javier also teaches comic book workshops at libraries, schools and other venues. He's a frequent guest at comic book conventions, and is always in the middle of several comics projects at once.
