About Adam Lawler

Adam Lawler was born in the small town of Clintwood, Virginia, located in the central Appalachian coalfields. He is the son and grandson of coal miners, and was fortunate his family treasured education, supporting his efforts to attend college. Adam graduated with honors from Coastal Carolina Community College and Appalachian State University, where he earned a BA in History and a MA in Appalachian Studies. At Coastal Carolina Community College, while earning an AA in Pre-Law, Adam found something even more important to his life-he met his wife Karen. They eventually settled in the small town of West Jefferson, North Carolina and raised three children; Cyndi, Wayne, and Rachel. Their children grown, they are currently empty nesters, sharing their home with his Doberman Pinscher, guide dog, Freyja. Adam has always had an independant spirit, and as such, chooses to publish without the backing of a big publishing house. This process allows him to get his work to readers quicker and with less expense, but costs him the ability to use their marketing teams to promote his work.
