Maddie Moore's whole life needs a makeover.

In one fell swoop, Maddie loses her boyfriend (her decision) and her job (so not her decision) but rather than drowning her sorrows in bags of potato chips, Maddie leaves L.A. to claim the inheritance left by her free-spirited mother-a ramshackle inn nestled in the little coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington. Starting over won't be easy. Yet Maddie sees the potential for a new home and a new career, if only she can convince her two half-sisters to join her in the adventure. But convincing Tara and Chloe will be difficult because the inn needs a big makeover too.

The contractor Maddie hires is a tall, dark-haired hottie whose eyes - and mouth - are making it hard for her to remember that she's sworn off men. Even harder will be Maddie's struggles to overcome the past, though she's about to discover that there's no better place to call home than Lucky Harbor.

Our customer reviews

Maddie Moore arrived in Lucky Harbor to start anew and she hopes the building her mother left to her along with her two step sisters Chloe and Tara will be the beginning of some new enterprise. She wants to make a go of getting to know her sisters and thinks this might be the way for that to happen. Maddies doesn't know her sisters that well as she was raised by her father who didn't let her see alot of her mother. Before Maddie arrives she manages to knock a guy down of his motorbike. Then later on she meets him again and finds out he owns a bar called the "Love Shack". He invites her in for a drink and later that night he kisses her on the dock much to the amusement of the local gossips in the town. Jax Cullen likes Maddie, she sweet, sexy and has a good heart and just want to convince her sisters to make a go of the inn like their grandmother had when she ran it. Maddie is also trying to toughen up, she had a rough relationship which has made her nervous of certain situations. While Jax helps the sisters restore the Inn, with his skills ( he is a carpenter along with being a bar owner) he does all he can to convince Maddie they are perfect for each other. Maddie likes Jax and he is very patience with her, but he also keeps part of him self hidden and this upsets Maddie as he knows nearly everything about her. This two characters in this story just click from the beginning. Poor Maddie is so sweet and she just want everyone to get along, but it's so funny because she is nicknamed the mouse for the obvious reason. The story is great and you really get to know the characters really well. The diaglogue just flows and in no time at all you have finished the book and you want to read the next book on her sister Tara. Jill Shalvis delivers as always another great more
