The Al Madad Foundation has, since its inception, been involved with childcare in Palestine supporting paediatric centres and child support groups, as well as funding many media projects, including the Birzeit University Photographic department. "Silent Witnesses" brings together an international team of photographers, led by Rula Halawani, director of the Birzeit Photographic department, to create a book of over 150 photographs, alongside the reproduction of the children's artwork and their writings. The internationally renowned photographer, Stefano Massimo, has taken a portfolio of images which brilliantly augment the children's own testimonies.
