For years, Jenny and sister Kim suffered horrendous physical and sexual abuse at the hands of their father. They survived in part because of their closeness and their determination to be there for each other. Both sisters left home at the earliest opportunity to escape but before long, Jenny was embroiled in a relationship with an abusive man that kept her locked in a cycle of violence and fear. Their lives followed parallel paths, with first marriage, then kids and always the terror that things would never change. Eventually, with a lot of love, grit and courage they helped each other to climb out of the pit of despair and truly free themselves from the legacy of the past. Our customer reviews

"I was so glad to see there was another book to follow up behind closed doors. Silent sisters was heart wrenching. As i read the book i was glad to see things had started working out for this family, then i found myself crying as the family went through more torture but this time not at the hands of their father. Through a bully of a lover to little chris dying. The horrible loss of a baby that would never be known. I realy felt for this family. It just goes to show you really can pull yourself out of the dirt and grime and abuse you were brought up in. This family really does go through it and im glad that they are now all happy and getting over such a horrible childhood. Not many people would have the courage to tell their harrowing stories to friends let alone write books about it. This book really is something everyone should read if not for the author then just because things like this still go on and are un noticed. This book really opened my eyes to how cruel this world can be. "show more
