For the 200th anniversary of the birth of Hans Christian Andersen, a joint international exhibition project will take place at the Kunsthallen Brandts Klaedefabrik inspired by and named after Andersen's fairytale "The Shadow," written in 1846/1847."The Shadow" is one of his darkest and most complex tales, as well as one of the finest achievements of Danish Romantic literature.The exhibition will gather about 30 international visual artists like Christian Boltanski, Giorgio de Chirico, Stan Douglas, Duane Michaels, Gerhard Richter, Wolfgang Tillmanns and Kara Walker, and, with the inclusion of videos, films, soundscapes, photography and painting, encompass the full range of contemporary art.

About Sadowsky Thorsten

Sadowsky (*1960) is Curator of "Shadow Play" and Assistant Director of the Museum "Kunsthallen Brandts Klaedefabrik," Odense, Denmark. He studied history, philosophy and ethnology at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Casati is Senior Researcher at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, France. His areas of specialization are Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Perception, Metaphysics, Cognitive Science, History of Psychology. Johansen is professor of General and Comparative Literature, Director of North European Regional Center for Semiotics at the University of South Denmark. Research Associate, Research Center forLanguage and semiotic Studies, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana (1982/83). Fulbright Professor at UC Berkeley 1994-95.
