Part of the commando had left Greefi" s farm in direction of Berrington's with the native prisoner. The prisoner Scheepers was with me at GreefY's farm when these men took the native away. The laager had been there the previous night. It was about 10 minutes after the native was taken away that I heard the shots. V, I heard that Malan arrived in the laager the night before, but I do not know. About 10 minutes after the shots were heard Scheepers moved ofl'. I heard no orders given as to the shooting of the native. Re-ezramined by Counsel for prosecution. I heard Scheepers say to Van der Berg that shooting was too good for him. His evidence is read to the witness. The witness withdraws ALBERT VAN DER BURGH, being duly sworn, is examined by the Prosecutor, and states: --I live in Aberdeen. In March last, from the 6th to the 19th, I was a prisoner with Scheepers' commando. On the 19th I was released at U itkomst, Berrington's farm. There was a native prisoner tied to a bush there. I heard afterwards that this prisoner was shot. I heard two shots fired after the commando left the farm. Commandant Scheepers released me and Rubidge, and he then turned to Van der Berg and said " What must I do with you?
