A prominent clergyman* who -was a parishioner at St. Peter's during his youth, Says, Men partly make, and are partly made by, the age they live in; and when a man of deep beliefs, and a strong will, is thrown into a transition time, he will leave his mark. He may do it in the teeth of opposition; but, all the more for that, it will not wear out; and men will be inﬂuenced by him, who never knew his name.
