(Acts ii. 1-13.) The lot was never used after the day of Pentecost. t The feast of Pentecost is also called the feast of weeks (Exodus xxxiv. 22; Deut. xvi. 10-16), the feast of harvest (Exod. xxiii. 16), and the day of first-fruits (Numb, xxviii. 26), because the Jews then praised the Lord for the bounties of harvest, and presented the first-fruits of the wheat harvest in bread baked of the new corn.
