Scott Patrick Sheldon (born November 20, 1968 in Hammond, Indiana) is a former Major League Baseball third baseman/shortstop and right-handed batter who played for the Oakland Athletics (1997) and Texas Rangers (1998-2001). He also played in Japan for the Orix BlueWave (2002-03). On September 6, 2000 Sheldon became the third player in MLB history to play all 9 positions in a single game, joining Bert Campaneris (Kansas City Athletics, September 8, 1965), C sar Tovar (Minnesota Twins, September 22, 1968) and later that year he was joined by Shane Halter (Detroit Tigers, October 1, 2000), in the select list of nine-position players in the same game.
