In those days learned men studied the positions of the stars in the heavens, and placed great importance upon what they saw there; so, no wonder Herod was on the alert concerning this child. He quietly called the chief priests and scribes to come to his court, and as soon as they had arrived he questioned them about the place where Jesus was born. After hearing all that they could tell, the King sent quietly for the wise men pure face in his, and they knew that this and questioned them about the time that the star appeared, what they thought was its portent, and finally said to them, " Go and search out carefully concerning the young child, and when ye have found him bring me word, that I also may come and worship him."
