Scar of Venus
Paige Weston puts everything on hold now that her involvement with planets has cost her Marty, her brother. She will do whatever it takes to get him back, but first she must fight for her life in the court of the planets. She is accused of the murder of a holder of a treasure heart, and the facts are against her. She was the only one seen at the time of death. She will not give up the treasure heart or the weapon used to take it. The blood has been on her hands. Her fate is in the hands of the planets that she has grown to loathe. Another treasure heart is slain, and the planets become uneasy. Paige is given a mission, but this time it isn't from Saturn. She agrees to find the weapon of Earth after learning that it could be the key to stopping Mars. To find the weapon, she must first find the person that holds Earth's treasure heart. Finding anything forces Paige into her past and the pasts of the planets. The deeper she digs, the more she learns that heartaches are part of who people become and fuel what they do. With her own heartache repeating each day with the rising sun, she fears there may be nothing left of her when this fight is over. Everyone will have loss. Everyone will have pain. With every success, there will be sacrifice. As with the fight for the normal life Paige wants, she remembers... All Gifts Come With a Price.
