Satellite-Based Assessment of the Mississippi River Discharge Plume's Spatial Structure and Temporal Variability
The Mississippi River is the major contributor of sediments, pollutants, and nutrients to the northern Gulf of Mexico. This study utilized five ears of NOAA Advanced Vary High Resolution Radiometer satellite data to investigate the spatial and temporal variabilities of the sediment plume an dot enable the determination of which environmental forcing factors affect plume dispersal.
