About Geoff Green

My true crime adventure depicted in my previous book Paying for the Past has been life changing. The aftermath took over a decade to go through the courts. A diary I kept at the time, along with media and public interest, inspired me to write the book. My writing background includes a creative writing course with The London School of Journalism, published research articles in peer reviewed journals, two completed novels: The Sand Hide, now available on Amazon, Cold Friends, to be published next year, and a third, The Comfort Zone, in progress. I work as an osteopath and live in the beautiful Sussex village of Steyning with my wife Carol, a retired acupuncturist and now a sculptor. We have four children - from our two marriages - and five grandchildren. We have walked some of the greatest treks in the world including, The Inca Trail in Peru, the Amazon Basin, The Grand Canyon and The Great Wall of China. I was born in South Wales in 1941 and moved to London when I was seven. One of six children, I left school at fourteen and had more than a dozen jobs, including, cinema projectionist, milkman, timber porter and photographer's assistant before establishing a building and shop-fitting company in the 1960's. One of my most exciting jobs was as motor racing promotions manager for the, now infamous, Southern Organs group of companies in the 1970's. I went on to complete my secondary education at forty and received a first class honours degree in Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. I grew up with folk music, skiffle, the Beatles and Rock and Roll. The Dices Skiffle Group, my first band, formed around 1956. Most of our early days were spent entertaining the punters in pubs and dance halls. I also sang under the name Jeff Prince, performing in Saturday morning pop concerts and talent shows in London. Group performances included gigs at the Shepherds Bush and Chiswick Empires. We recorded demo discs, 78rpm and 45rpm, at John Hassel Studios in London before I joined pop group, Peter and the Wolves in 1962. I love to paint, write, walk and eat out. Art, books and travel rate high.
