Safe and Sound with Child and Dog
This is a guide to creating a long-lasting and safe bond between children and dogs. Living with dogs has a positive effect on a child's development, promoting social skills and a sense of responsibility. This practical guide highlights the criteria you should be aware of when choosing your future family dog, and how best to prepare a dog already living in your household for the arrival of a new baby. However, this book is not just for the benefit of parents who want to teach their children how to interact properly and safely with dogs. Dog owners, dog trainers and educators dealing with the issue of children and dogs, professionally or privately, will also gain valuable ideas and advice. Play-based educational games, examples drawn from practical experience, as well as numerous photos and illustrations make this book an indispensable companion for all those sharing their everyday lives with children and dogs.
