About Stuart Trotter

Stuart Trotter is an experienced children's illustrator/storyteller. He has been the official Rupert artist since 2008.

John Harrold was born in Glasgow in 1947 and studied at the Glasgow School of Art. In 1973 he was asked to illustrate "Lots of Fun to Cook with Rupert", which led to the Daily Express asking him to draw Rupert strips for the newspaper. He was the official Rupert artist for over 30 years.

Alfred Bestall was born in Burma in 1892. He served in the First World War and on returning became an illustrator for books and magazines. He wrote and illustrated Rupert stories for the Daily Express for 30 years, creating perhaps the best-loved incarnation of the famous bear. He died in Snowdonia in Wales in 1986, aged 93.
