Opposites in every way . . . except the one that matters Shaw Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight--A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn't want--and the only person she's never tried to please. She isn't afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won't listen. To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess-and his dead twin brother's girl. She lives by other people's rules; he makes his own. He doesn't have time for a good girl like Shaw-even if she's the only one who can see the person he truly is. But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love . . . or each other. The first Marked Men novel in Jay Crownover's combustible New Adult series.show more

Favourite Quote: ¢??It¢??s not a bad thing to feel, it¢??s not awful to care about other people.¢?? You know that saying, ¢??Don¢??t judge a book by it¢??s cover¢??? Well I hate to admit but when it came to this book, I did. Let me tell you right now, DO NOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY THE COVER! After reading a few chapters of this book on amazon, I knew the cover didn¢??t represent this book well and I was right! I loved this book and give it 5/5 stars! I want to start with the characters, because they are what I loved most about this book! Each character was individual, unique and most of them just captured my heart! There¢??s Shaw, our main female, and I related a lot to her situation as it mirrors my own love life crisis and I liked that Rule gave her inner strength to stand up to her home situation. She was always sweet, considerate and was certainly not the na?¯ve, timid young girl that is found in a lot of new adult! Then there¢??s Rule. Where do I even begin???!! The tattoos, piercings, hair etc this is just my perfect man! And deep down through all his tough guy bullshit, he¢??s just a lost soul looking for his place in the world! The pairs relationship was rocky but that made it realistic! Onto the side characters, adored Rome, cannot wait to read his book! Nash, Jet, Cora and Ayden were all great too and I cannot wait to read more about them! Finally there¢??s Remy and even though he died before the book begins, learning about him throughout left him a special place in my heart! Onto the plot, the romance takes center stage but there¢??s also a huge subplot on grief and how badly it can affect a family! There¢??s also plots to do with other difficult family situations and psycho ex-boyfriend¢??s! I thought the pacing was steady and each plot got enough time dedicated to it to make it work! Overall, I just loved this book and I know I¢??m going to love this series! I highly recommend this to contemporary lovers and to people just getting into New Adult!show more
