Keel to be of white oak sided 3 inches, moulded as per plans, to be in one piece, same to be beveled for planking. Stem to be of white oak sided 3 inches, shaped as per plans, to be rabbeted for planking, to be secured to keel by a stem knee sided 3 inches of white oak, shaped as per plans, and fastened to keel and stem by six galvanized iron bolts 4-inch diameter riveted over burrs. Face of stem to be beveled to a width of 34 inch and bound with galvanized iron stem band with galvanized screws. Hornlimber to be of oak sided 3 inches, shaped as per plans, and secured to shaft log by six 2-inch diameter galvanized iron drift bolts. Shaft Log to be of white oak sided 4 inches, shaped as per plans, and secured to keel with at least six J-inch diameter bolts. Stern Post to be of white oak sided 3 inches, moulded 3 inches and attached to horntimber by stern knee sided 3 inches, shaped, as per plans, and secured to keel and transom with at least six j4-inch diameter galvanized bolts. Transom to be of oak i-inch thick, shaped as shown, in as wide boards as possible, doweled together, seams caulked with cotton and payed with white lead putty and planed smooth heads of fastenings in transom to be countersunk and covered with wood plugs. Floor Timbers to be of white oak iK-inch thick, moulded as per plans, each floor timber to be secured to keel with one H-'mch diameter galvanized bolt and to each frame with three galvanized iron wire nails. Frames to be of best straight-grained white oak 1% by 1% inches, spaced 10 inches center to center, except in way of engine, where they are spaced 5 inches, each frame to be secured on top of keel with two long chisel point cut nails.
