About Roald Dahl

Roald Dahl, born in Wales of Norwegian parents was educated in England before going to work for Shell in Africa. He began to write after "a monumental bash on the head", sustained as an RAF pilot in World War II. He won the Whitbread Prize for THE WITCHES. He worked in a hut in his apple orchard in Buckinghamshire until his death in 1990.Quentin Blake is one of the UK's most celebrated artists, renowned for his collaborations with Dahl. He is a visiting professor at the Royal College of Art.
