About Donald S Lowry

Don Lowry has a life-long interest in the Civil War plus a largely irrelevant BA in History. He was publisher/editor of a wargames magazine (Campaign), a newspaper editor, authored a 4-volume series on the final year of the Civil War (No Turning Back, Fate of the Country, Dark and Cruel War, and Towards an Indefinite Shore), and has had articles published in Military History, America's Civil War and War Diary magazines. He lives in Southern California despite the earthquakes and brush fires, which he figures are better than floods, hurricanes and/or tornadoes. This is the second book in his 1863 series (the other being Over the River: The Campaigns of Vicksburg and Chancellorsville, March-May 1863).show more
