I have inquired at N o. 314 'Vest Nineteenth street, New York, for Philip Kuhl, and have been informed that no such person lived in said house. I have inquired of the manager of Babbit's Soap Factory, and have been told by him that, in his judgment, the soap of Doscher called Leader Soap as wrapped in his wrapper could not be mistaken for Blizzard Soap. I have inquired at No. 207 'Vest Forty-first street for Josephine VVien, and have been informed by the grocer with whom she deals, next door to her residence, that she is the wife of a private detective. I have also inquired at 314 VVest Nineteenth street for Philip Kuhl, and am informed by the people who live there that no person of that name lives in that house. I have also inquired at No. 228 West Sixteenth street for E. Gouge, and am informed by the janitor of that house that the person named Gouge living there is known by the name of Fisher, and that is the name she uses in the letter-box directory. I am informed by Henry Wiesman, who is the proprietor of the store 151 Eighth avenue, that he does 110t know either of these persons, and that he does not sell Blizzard Soap, and has never purchased any whatever.
