The furnace is 12% in. square and is made in three heights--1o, 20 and 30-in. Descripti0n.--The above is a converted PURAIR floor furnace. The register has been removed and replaced by a top casing 12 in. square by 10 in. high with openings for hot-air pipes leading to one or more registers. In the cut the screened inlet-air opening and the sections of the heating chambers immediately behind it have been removed to show the burner and its connections. In this furnace the pilot and burner cocks are controlled from the bottom. Descripti0n.--The No. 11 furnace, shown in Fig. 103, is so designed that the legs can be reversed and used as hangers where it is more convenient to suspend the furnace from the joists. Cold air enters the heater at the bottom and passes through a series of tubes, as well as along the sides of the firebox and heating chamber. It is discharged into the outer casing and hot-air pipe and is then conducted to the floor above. This heater makes use of artificial fuel the "fuels" being placed in a basket suspended above a one-piece, drilled-port burner.
