As there were no students in the training school for stewards it was necessary to hold an examination. This examination was given on July 26, 1932, to 38 applicants, on the basis of appearance, adaptability, etc. Determined by a personal interview experience and the result of the written examination. The applicant receiving the highest total rating was selected and appointed to a position in the training school for nine months getting his training at the Belchertown State School.
