Sr.c'r. 6. The minister of a church or religious socicty, of whatever denomination, if a citizen of the United States, shall be capable of taking in succession parsonage land granted to the minister and his-successors, or to the use of the ministers, or granted by any words of the like import, and may prosecute and defend iii all actions touching the same. SE01'. 7. No conveyance of the lands of a church shall be effectual to pass the same, if made by the trustees or deacons, without the consent of the church, or a committee of the church appointed for that pur pose or, if made by the church wardens, without the consent of the vestry.
