All Harry Morgan thinks he wants out of life is to 'be in control' and privately relive the memories of a WW-2 lost love. In a late life moment of crisis this tidal wave of conflicting emotions grasps his thoughts and we follow him through his corporate career and conflicts, his unhappy childhood, his OSS military career and serious injuries, his intimacy as well as those couples that are influential in his life, his friendships won and lost, and the trail of his one great love, seemingly lost forever, and miraculously recovered. We share in the remarkable resolution of the lifetime of this man of inner and outside conflicts through his 'Reflections' now that he, in late life, recognizes that he has found fulfillment and peace around him.
