I did not want to go back to get it that is the reason I borrowed in Newburgh. When I was in the City of Newburgh I had eighteen dollars. BY THE COURT: When I left Walden I knew I was going to Fall River. I didn't take the money along. I didn't want to spend it. I took $26 with me to New York, spent $8 and it left me $18. I had $26 when I went to Newburgh, bor 250 rowed $5 from Mr. Murphy and started from there that day. I knew I was going away before I left Walden. The reason I did not take the rest of the money with me I was keeping it for the wedding. I am positive after I came back on Labor Day I saw Mr. Murphy after that. He spoke about the $5. I told him I would get it for him. I haven't had a chance to yet. I borrowed five dollars from Hankins about Christmas morning. I did not say anything to him about my being hard up. I went to pay him the five once and could not find him. I never went to see him, and said I did not have it. I think the time I went 51 to pay him was the Wednesday morning I was married.
