Excerpt: ...emergency, and after much discussion, and a conscientious and thorough examination of the rooms offered to us, Boom 56 in the Church Missions House was finally decided upon. It is so exactly adapted to our needs that it seems as though it had just been waiting for the G. F. S. A. to realize its existence and avail themselves of it. Imagine a bright, sunny room, about fifteen feet wide and twenty feet long, and, best of all, a smaller room opening oat of it, with folding doors and a large closet for supplies. Those of our number who were a little in doubt as to the advisability of our having one room, will perhaps openly rebel at the idea of this second room until they know that in the near future it is proposed to have all business connected with the editing and sending out of the Becord and Magazine transacted at the Central Office, and so this second room is a real necessity. The rent for these two rooms is $588 as against $300 for the room we are occupying at present. That may seem a large increase in rent, but the only office available for the rent we were paying was totally inadequate to our needs, and these rooms we have taken are far superior in every particular to several in the Church Missions Honse at approximately the same rent. The committees have done their best, and can only hope that the Society at large will ratify their action by cheerfully and generously assuming this additional burden. At the meeting of the Diocesan Council of Massachusetts, held recently in Bostor, the sum of $150 was voted towards furnishing the new rooms, and Long Island has pledged $50 towards the rent for this year.
