Reading, Pa.--The growing prosperity of this country has brought about a universal enjoyment of the comforts and luxuries of life, and in no department has this popularizing of advantages which were formerly only for the richest been more marked than in that of household furniture. One of the oldest and best-known houses in this line of Reading and vicinity is that of Mr. A. K. Deysher, at the corner of 5th and Bingaman Streets, and none has had a greater influence in building up all the best features of this trade. The business was established in 1878, by Mr. A. K. Deysher, (father of the present proprietor) who had been for forty-five years a leading business man of Reading. During the past five years the trade has been carried steadily forward by Mr. A. K. Deysher, Jr., being kept in every particular on the level of the best in the market. The business occupies a handsome brick store-building, at above address, three stories high (35 x 75 feet in dimensions); also for storage purposes. two floors of an adjacent building (25 x 60 feet), and a three-story warehouse on Wood Street. From this, some idea of the great stock carried can be obtained. The packing box factory conducted by Mr. Deysher is situated on the corner of 2d and Pine Streets. This house manufactures every style of handsome and useful household furniture. Its stock will be found replete with attractive and elegant designs, including unique parlor, dining-room and bedroom sets. tables, easy-chairs. sofas, bookcases, chiffonieres, sideboards, and all necessary furnishings ofa modern and complete home.
