About Jonathan May

Jonathan May grew up in Sawyerville, Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Birmingham-Southern College and a Masters of Library Science at Columbia University, where he worked first in the Journalism Library and later, after he got his degree, as Government Documents Librarian. He took early retirement from the library world, returned to his home in Alabama, and began to write. His published works include the novels A Howling in the Night and Siren Song and his family memoir The Turbervilles of Greensboro, Alabama. In addition, he has edited and published two memoirs by his late friend Tom Canford: A Fever of the Mad: A Movie Publicist Works with Francis Coppola, Elaine May, John Cassavetes, Peter Falk, and Richard Gere and Survives to Tell the Tale! and Baker's Daughter, Miller's Son, a Memoir of the Family of Tom Miller and Norma Miller.
