At the first night he only had six at his service; bat as time went on the attendance kept increasing, until on the eve of his departure, after being at Crewe three weeks, we were not able to find accommodation for the large numbers who were anxious to listen to his discourses. Since then we have met in the dining-room, and the work of the Lord has prospered. On the arrival of Miss Doswell on June 9 we numbered 106 members. Our lady friend conducted services in the Science Boom at the Town Hall each evening, and in the large hall on Sundays; the attendance gradually increased; many who were lukewarm Christians have been tired up to duty and diligence; others who were just on the verge of the fold have been brought to Christ; and many who came out of curiosity were caught in the net so successfully thrown out by this worthy lady. Besides the meetings held in the Town Hall, Miss Doswell paid a visit to the dining-room whilst the men were at dinner, and gave an address which was very eagerly listened to. She also conducted two services on the station in the waiting rooms, kindly granted by Mr. Humphries, Stationmaster. On the first visit seventy-five Railway-men listened to her discourse from the words, "Come, now, let us reason together," &a. She also sang a beautiful solo, "Come to Jesus," which left a deep impression upon many of the hearers. Her second visit was as successful as the first. The amount of good done, and the number of souls saved, will never be known this side the grave, for at almost every meeting men and women were brought to God, and on Thursday night there were nine souls seeking pardon at onoe.
