(d) The new boiler and coal house located at the lower end of the grounds was specially built to accommodate four No. 1150 Heavy Duty Capitol Boilers. At present this building houses a battery of three of the above boilers, each having a rated capacity of 7800 square feet of radiation. They furnish the steam supply to warm all of the buildings, and provision is made in the boiler-room for the installation of a fourth boiler of similar size at some future period when additional power is desired. ' The photograph showing the boiler room and boilers affords a very good view of their setting and the sketch Figure 1, shows the manner in which they are cross-connected, from which it will be noted that any one, two or three of them, may be used independently. Two 6" risers out of each boiler are connected into a 10" header running across the boilers. Each pipe is provided with a 6" angle valve at the top, and a 5" equalizing pipe between every two boilers is connected from the bottom of the 10" steam header with a 6" return header across the rear of the boilers. This return header is connected to each of the boilers by two 4" pipes suitably valved. natural a gravity heating plant as it would be possible to install. Figure 2, shows a plan of the ground, the location of the various buildings, and the manner in which they are supplied with steam from mains carried in trenches about 2' 6" under the ground.
