In the Utah Fields. New prices for coal produced in the Utah fields were also announced. Mining in Utah is conducted under exceedingly difficult conditions, which require a large outlay of capital. The new Utah prices nre: Run of mine, $2.80; perpared sizes, $3.30: slack, $2.50. The old price; for Utah were: Run of mine, $2.60; perpared sizes, $2.85; slack, $2.35. The increases allowed in both the middle Tennessee and Utah fields are outside of the general increase of 45 cents per ton allowed to mines operating under the socalled "Washington labor agreement." Prices Fixed Not Final. The prices as now lixcd by the United States Fuel Administration are not final, but are subject to revision when a complete investigation of the cost accounts of the operators has been completed. ITALY PROHIBITS ARMS IMPORTS. Consul Wilber, at Genoa, reports: The Genoa port bulletin for October 1 contains n communication from the ministry of finance giving notice that no firearms, of whatever origin, can be imported into Italy without a special permit from the ministry.
