"Pyrrhic Truths" was the first finished work by Alexandra Meryn. The story outgrew its working title, "Remember Me," between concept and publication, and finding a new title became a challenge in itself. A 'pyrrhic victory' is a success won at too great a cost to have been worthwhile for the victor. A perfect description of the journey taken by John Matthews and Andy Leigh. Meeting at a Central Ontario retreat for a bit of competitive baseball, the two find that they have more in common than either understands. As they put the pieces of their puzzles together, they begin to see a picture filled with mystery, danger, love, and excitement. They will discover the truth of their situation, but will the answers they seek be worth the price they pay?show more
