Constables or other oificers attending or attached to the school, who may be sent back to their districts for misconduct, will have to pay their own fares by Railway. Provision has been made in proportion to the number of constables in each district for a certain number of allowances of R-e. 1 each per mensem for constables, who return to their districts with lst class certificates, which number per district must not be exceeded. As vacancies occur these allowances will be given to other constables with lst class certificates in rotation, accordingto date of such certificates, and seniority, where the dates are the same. These allowancesmay be held in addition to the good conduct stripe allowances for good, special or long service, and will lapse on the holder being promoted to Sergeant. As only Rs. 35 have been provided for contingent expenditure in providing books, codes, catechisms, paper, ink, pens, &c., as may be required for school purposes. and in lighting the school and barracks, all expenditure in excess of the said sum must be recovered from the men; but such recoveries must not exceed 4 (four) annas per man in any one month. No other fees or deductions than the above are to be made from the oflicers or men attending the school. Constables may, on leaving the school, take with them any codes, catechismfi or drill manuals they may wish to, paying half price to the school fund for the same. It is hoped that a. short catechism for the use of the school will shortly be issued from the Central Police Ofiice.
