Hamilton in 1879. This is a naked.eye star in Argo. Lacaille 2628. There would appear to be some change, but this needs confirmation. There is a wide difference in the magnitudes assigned to the smaller star. p (X1)...p2...Pritchett (Pub. Morrison Obsy. No. 1)...Russell (Mon. Not. Xlvn, 473)...Pollock (Pub. Sydney Obsy. 1891) (Mem. A'. A.S.L)...Sellors (3240)...See (3495)... This is one of the rejected stars (02 169) of the Poulkowa Catalogue. In the edition of 1850 it was given as " oblong?" the direction of the suspected elongation being roughly measured on two occasions 1990 and 2040. Madler has two observations Dorpat Observations XI, XIII), 26?4: ofs (1843.28) and 22?2: of35 (1846.24). Subsequently Dem.
