Description

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The ProFe D-8 Moby Dick is a family of Czech pusher configuration, parasol wing, strut-braced, V-tailed, motor gliders that was designed and produced by ProFe. The aircraft is named for the great white whale of Herman Melville's novel of the same name and was supplied as a kit for amateur construction. In a craft with a pusher configuration the propeller(s) are mounted behind their respective engine(s). According to Bill Gunston, a "pusher propeller" is one mounted behind engine so that drive shaft is in compression. Pusher configuration describes also more commonly the specific layout of a fixed-wing aircraft of which the thrust device has a pusher configuration.show more
