Excerpt: ...of Volume No. V., inasmuch as the domestic and internal matters of the subordinate lodges have no special interest for us, and the reports from other Grand Bodies are either obsolete or have been reviewed in another part of our report. The installation of the new Grand Master at the emergent session of March 20, 1890, was solemn and impressive. Deputy Grand Master Bno. FLOHR presided; a great number of Brethren from the subordinate lodges at Berlin, and especially of the Grand Oflicers of the two other Berlin Grand Bodies, were present. The ritualistic features of this ceremony are the same as those practised in the United Grand Lodge oi! England, viz., prayer, procession, and so on. A Festival Lodge, with banquet, in celebration of the installation of the new Grand Master was held March 28, 1890, and described in No. VI. oi.' the Communications. The emergent session, March 4, 1890, was devoted to deliberations and resolutions relating to the adoption oi.' local statutes for the Jurisdiction. Grand Master Bao. HENRY (Prince) CAROLATB presided for the first time on this occasion. Nos. VII. and VIII., the latter 'containing the minutes of the regular quarterly session of June 2, 1890, refer mainly to the condition 0! the subordinate lodges oi the Jurisdiction. They contain as an Appendix a report by Bno. O. Llvomus, Vice-Admiral, Representative of the United Grand Lodge of England, near the Royal York Grand Lodge, and what is more interesting to us, a report of Bno. Simon, Representative of the Grand Lodge of the State of Illinois, near the Royal.York Grand Lodge. Bno.
