It seems to be perfectly clear that instead of his having "studied" the correspondence and literature with "care" Mr. Simpson neglected. or ignored. the latter. and studied the former not at all. Otherwise he could not have failed to discover the repeated typographical error in the writer's reply that was sent to the "News." which reads "1919" instead of 1918. In clause "A" Mr. Simpson claims Prof. Lull "gave full credit at the time to the ('olorado Museum." Prof. Lull's article reads: "This plan has. I believe. been followed elsewhere (Colorado)......" and in a second place refers to the "Colorado mount." However. that appears to be the Simpsonesque brand of "care" in giving "full credit" and making "statements." In the summary under paragraphs "I." "2." and "3." Mr. Simpson dilates upon "methods." Their introduction and the attempt to apply them in this connection might be said to suggest a purpose of beggaring the question. Prof. Lull. in his Journal of Science article. employed the word "plan." In The Museum News it is referred to as "Type" and "new kind of mount." The present writer has no objection to anv of-those terms. for readers will determine for themselves if Prof. Lull's late adoption of a "mold" and "plaster-of-paris" (see "News" article) is similar to the "method" described to him by the present writer under date of March 4. 1921.
