They, therefore, submit the following resolution ' for adoption: Resolved, That the Comptroller be, and he is hereby, directed to procure a new location for the use of Humane Hose Company, No. 20--to be within the following boundaries: Park row, William street, John street, and Broadway. The undersigned, Committee on Repairs and Supplies. to whom was referred the annexed report from the Board of Aldermen, in favor of appropriating $7,000 to c0mPlete the building for Infants' Home, respectfully REPORT: That they have given the matter careful consideration, and are of opinion that the action of said Board should be concurred in, and they therefore recommend that such action be had thereon. The Committee on Cleaning Streets, to whom was referred the annexed petition of the Broadway Association, asking that the deficiency in payments to the contractor for cleaning Broadway for two years, to July, 1859, would respectfully REPORT: That, upon examination, they find that that Association has, from its private funds, paid a very large sum towards the cleaning of the great thoroughfare in question, and in this respect have shown an enterprising spirit not elsewhere manifested in the city. The work has been well done, and punctually attended to, and, as Broadway is used by persons from all parts of the city more especially than any other one street, 'the expense of keeping it in decent order and proper condition eminently devolves on _ the community at large.
