The Chancellor Green Library building consists Of a central octagon with two wings, which are counterparts externally, and consist of octagonal buildings joined to the main octagon by passageways, the extreme length of the whole building from wing to wing being 160 feet. The central octagon is sixty-four feet in diameter, is fifty feet high at the highest points, and contains an elevated floorway twelve feet from the floor and Sixteen feet Wide. Each side of the octagon contained originally four radial bookcases on each floor and the sixty-four cases furnished a shelving capacity Of about volumes.
