Excerpt from The Presbyterian Memorial Offering, 1870-1871 The amount of additional reports rendered subsequent to the meeting of the Assembly is a little less than a quarter of a million of dollars, being made up mostly of small returns from the country churches. The Committee, understanding that the extension of time by the Assembly till the 1st of August was intended only to admit reports which were designed to be given before the Assembly, have put forth no effort to swell the amount, but have merely entered what was reported up to the allotted time.
