Meet Anne Dowling - a fresh, original, and funny new YA heroine whose knowing, irreverent voice will remind readers of Pretty Little Liars and Private. Anne practically runs her exclusive prep school on New York's Upper East Side - that is, until she burns part of it down. Accidentally. Her lawyer father decides to send his not-quite-so-innocent only daughter to a prestigious boarding school outside of Boston. Determined to reform her bad girl ways and make it back to New York, making friends at the Wheatley School is the last thing Anne cares about. There is one girl Anne is able to stand, though - her roommate Isabella. That is, until Isabella's body is found in the woods behind the school. Anne is convinced someone knows what happened to Isabella the night she was viciously murdered - but no one is talking. That's when Anne starts to notice how old and creepy the Wheatley School really is. When she meets Isabella's twin brother and learns he also thinks the school might be covering up the truth about Isabella's death, Anne can't help it...she starts poking around.
Utilizing her lock-picking skills, unmistakable charm, and the help of a cute classmate named Brent, Anne discovers that Isabella wasn't quite the innocent nerdy girl she pretended to be. But someone will do anything to stop Anne's snooping around in this fast-paced, unputdownable read - even if it means framing her for Isabella's murder.

Review quote

"Anne's honest and whip-smart voice demonstrates her strength of character and intuition as she observes the differences between the elite of New York City and Boston. In this first book in a planned series, first-time author Taylor blends thriller and contemporary fiction elements in a tightly developed plot. Anne's romance with two boys from vastly different social backgrounds offers insight into the heroine's conflicted, yet emerging sense of morality." --Publishers Weekly

"A fast-moving murder mystery with preppy overtones and a determined heroine... Heavy overtones of Nancy Drew combine with a sassy boarding school spin for a fizzy read." --Kirkus

"Still mourning the demise of Gossip Girl? This new series about private school girls behaving badly will fill the void left by your favorite up-to-no-good Upper East Siders... This book has more intrigue than Serena had boyfriends, which says everything."

"Taylor's book shines with a truly puzzling plot, a grisly murder that speaks to her audience's maturity, and a couple of good red herrings. Her sleuth... is charming and wise beyond her years." --RT Book Reviews, 4 stars

"This book rocks! Seriously, do not pass this one up. Prep School Confidential is one of the best books I've read all year. It's scandalously delicious in the same vein as Pretty Little Liars and Revenge, with a wickedly clever plot that kept me guessing right up until the end. If I could give this book a 100 stars, I totally would!" --Gemma Halliday, New York Times bestselling author of Honeymoon in High Heels

"Frenetic and captivating, Kara Taylor's Prep School Confidential is a whirlwind of secrets, lies, and scandals. I whipped through the pages, frantic to discover the killer." --Jill Hathaway, author of Slide

"Fast-paced, suspenseful and scarily believable, Prep School Confidential is everything a good murder mystery should be. I was completely drawn into the world of the Wheatley School where every student and teacher has a secret they'd kill to protect. It will keep you guessing as you race to the end!" --Daisy Whitney, author of The Mockingbirds and When You Were Here

"With a clever and fresh voice, Kara Taylor's Prep School Confidential had me laughing one moment and on pins and needles the next. The amazing blend of humor and suspense will have you turning pages like crazy. I can't wait for the next installment!" --Ingrid Paulson, author of Valkyrie Rising

"With just the right amount of gossip and glamour, Prep School Confidential is a smart, darkly delicious, thrill-ride of a mystery. Impossible to put down!" --Kimberly Derting, Award-Winning Author of The Body Finder

"Prep School Confidential is an awesome read! ...One of my favorite parts is Anne herself... There are enough twists and turns in the story that a seasoned mystery fan will be rubbing their head over who actually killed Isabella."

"Anne becomes a sort of Nancy Drew-you know, if Nancy Drew burned down schools and kisses hot guys who smoke... What a fun, fun book! I could not put this one down. There are so many twists and turns here, so many times I thought I knew whodunnit when in actuality I was waaaay off base (so, what I'm saying is I have no future as a detective). Anne was a strong character who did dangerous, stupid things, but you have to love her for it. I liked her drive to solve Isabella's murder. Considering she barely knew her, I there was such an intensity in her need to find justice. At the same time, I also really enjoyed the fact that there were questionable things about so many of the characters. Things that made you look twice and wonder if they could be trusted. Taylor did a fabulous job layering the story with questions, and tension."

Review: Prep School Confidential, Kara's debut novel, is an extraordinary book with such an incredible plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The mystery in Prep School Confidential will make you want to read more. The little love story is an extra, that will captivate your heart and will make you fall in love even more with the Taylor's book. Taylor's writing is polished, and easy to keep track of what's happening, you would fall in love with how good she writes. We enjoyed reading Prep School Confidential, the moment we put our hands on the book (well, the eBook). We didn't even blinked and we were reading it. Just look at its cover, is beautiful! We love the use of colors, they are so simple, but all together they make a good combination. And we think that it perfectly shows what's the book about. It captures the image we have in mind of Anne. We loved Anne; she is so funny and brave. We loved how she tried to put Isabella's murder in jail. Even though Anne and Isabella weren't best friends. Not even friends at all. Anne risked her life to make the *******/s pay for Isabella's murder. We love courage and loyalty in our heroines (or main female characters for what it matters), that is why it was so easy to like Anne. We loved the plot, the need to know who was the one who murdered poor little Isabella was the one thing that kept us awake all night. We were so sad when they found out Isabella's body... It was just so sad. We couldn't imagine the pain his twin brother was in. We felt really sorry for him. We were so angry when the school was keeping something from Isabella's family and, even worst, from the police. We couldn't understand how somebody in their right mind would let the responsible for a girl's murder run free. We have said we loved Anne right? Yes, we loved her, but we envy her as well because she has two super hot guys willing to be with her and to help her with all the craziness she has to do in order to find out who the real murderer is. When do you get the chance to choose between two handsome guys, which have a hard crush on you? We have to say that Anne had a difficult decision to make. Brent and Anthony are just amazing, each one of them in their own way. Brent is a gentleman, with a sassy side. Anthony is the bad boy, with a big heart. When Anne made her choice, we were so mad, not because we didn't like her decision, we were mad at ourselves because we felt really happy for the chosen one and really sad for the other (not saying names here *wink*). We loved both of them. Anthony and Brent have a very special place in our hearts. We would love to let one of them cry in our shoulders *preparing our lips, SHOULDERS! We meant our shoulders!* Although we liked a lot about Prep School Confidential, we couldn't deal with teachers and students keeping their mouth shut because they were so worried about what the press would say about them. It was just so irritating. We think that the injustice was so much we couldn't enjoyed it as much as it deserved. Despite almost having a heart attack when we find out who the *******/s was/were, we kind of see it coming. We were suspicious about it. To put an end to our review, and our way to spit all our thought out, we would give you an advice; do you want some mystery/love book? Are you dying to read something new? Then this is your book. We encourage you to read Prep School Confidential, it is not going to be a waste of your time, it wasn't more
