Excerpt from The Practitioner: A Medical Journal; July-December, 1907
IN order that the pathologist may understand the problems with which he has to deal, it is necessary that he should be provided with a groundwork of physiological knowledge. It, however, often happens that the physiologist learns a great deal about the normal functions of the body by the information which he obtains from a study of diseased and abnormal processes. Diabetes is a striking example of a case wherein both classes of investigators may derive mutual benefit from an interchange of views.
