On Monday the 24th of February, the Commons ordcr'd a Bid to be brought in for making more effectual anAct sor compleati ng the Repairs of the Habour of Dover, and for Restoring the Harbour of Rye, so far a: the same selate: to 'be Harlzour of Rye; as also another Bill For better regulating the Com any of Wberrymen, Water-men, and Ligbtermen of 'he Rioeroof Thames: And then the grand Committee on Ways and Means to raise the Supply, came toa Resolution, which being the next 1Day reported to the House, Ways and Meant. agreed to, as follows, viz. p-1. That the several Duties upon Coffee and Tea granted (by One Act of Parliapicgt ma e Petieian of the Earl of Cum. wath. Vol. XXVII. for February 912334) 5. That the said Duty upon all Tea to be sold in Great Brirain by Wholesale or Retail shall be after the rate of Four Shillings per Pound Weight Averdupois, and in that Proportlon for a greater or lesser Qtantity, over and above all Customs and Duties which shall remain payable to His Majesty for the same upon the lmportation thereof. 6. That the said Duty upon all Chocolate to be made or sold in GreatBt-irain shafl be after the rate ofOne8hilling and Sixpenceper Pound Weight Averdujzois, and in that Proportion sor a greater or lesser Quantity, to be paid by the respective Makers or Sellers thereof. 7. That from and after the twenty fourth Day of June tsi7z4, no Chocolate ready made or Cocoa-paste shall be imported or brought into Great Brirain, from any Part or Parts beyond the Seas.. 8.
