Twenty-four-year-old barista Belle Jamison dreams of a better job and a decent love life. Until a crazy scientist spikes her mocha latte! Suddenly Belle can wield the four elements-earth, wind, fire and water-with only a thought. Coffee too hot? No problem. Hair in need of a blow-dry? Done.

Gorgeous government agent Rome Masters has been sent to neutralize Belle. But he's not the only one after her. Together they must outrun the rogue agents on their trail and find a way to control her powers. There's just one problem: the sparks Belle and Rome generate are even hotter than the ones flying from her eyes-and with her future on the line, now is the worst possible time to fall in love....

Our customer reviews

Playing with Fire by Gena Showalter is, by far, one of the best books i've read the last years! The unique writting style of Showalter captures you and doesn't allow you to put the book down till it's over! And then, you will ask for more! I liked the plot a lot, it was original and well written and i enjoyed all the characters. Belle is unique, smart and finds her way out of situations and eventually falls in love with the gorgeous agent Rome. The attraction is mutual and constantly growing - duh! if that's even possible!- and together, face all the difficulties. Tanner, a sidekick character, is actually very appealing and i loved the smart-ass remarks of his!! The dialogues were very smart and the story kept on going without allowing you to relax, because every single time something was happening! And one of the good things was that you didn't know who to trust and what to believe! Playing with fire is definately on top of the books-to-read list!! Don't hesitate to read it and you will beg for more!show more
