Plain of Darkness
Paul Morgan, a much-divorced recluse, meets a wild and sensual young girl on a deserted beach and is plunged into a sexually dangerous liaison. The action moves from the raw Atlantic sea-coast to the African wilderness - and Paul is compelled to confront his demons and escape from his bondage to the woman he once loved.

About David Lambkin
David Lambkin was born in England but has spent many years in Africa. He divides his time between running his own advertising agency and his pursuit of solitude in the wilder parts of east, central and southern Africa. A keen amateur naturalist, clay pigeon shot and fisherman, he is also a wine lover addicted to Bach and Beethoven, and an enthusiastic but untrained cook. Plain of Darkness won the 1992 CNA Prize for best debut work. His other novels, The Hanging Tree and Night Jasmine Man, are also published by Penguin.
